Art of Shine — Returns & Exchanges Policy

We want you to love your purchase. If something isn’t right, this page explains how returns and exchanges work for our jewellery and Arabic fragrances, in line with UK consumer law.

1) Eligibility

Time frames

  • Online orders (distance sales): You may cancel within 14 days of receiving your order (your “cooling-off” right). 

  • Pop-ups/markets (in-person sales): Your statutory rights for faulty goods apply; goodwill returns, if any, will be stated at point of sale.

Condition

  • Items must be unused and in resaleable condition, with all original packaging, tags, inserts, gifts and accessories. We may make a reasonable deduction if handling goes beyond what’s needed to check the item. 

Product-specific

  • Jewellery (non-pierced): Returnable if unworn with tags/packaging intact.

  • Earrings & body-piercing jewellery: Shipped sealed for hygiene. Once unsealed, they’re non-returnable unless faulty. 

  • Fragrances: Must be unopened with the original, unbroken cellophane/tamper seal. Opened bottles are non-returnable unless faulty (health/hygiene exemption). 

  • Personalised/engraved/made-to-order jewellery: Non-returnable unless faulty (personalised goods exemption).

Faulty, damaged or misdescribed items are always covered by your statutory rights (see §3). 

2) How to start a return

  1. Tell us you’re returning
    Email us or use our returns form/portal within the time frame above. A clear statement is enough; we’ll confirm next steps and provide the returns address/label options. GOV.UK

  2. Pack securely
    Include all original packaging and any free gifts.

  3. Post it back (tracked)
    Use a tracked service and keep proof of postage. You’re responsible for the parcel until it reaches us, unless we provide a pre-paid label. 

3) Refunds & exchanges

Change-of-mind (cooling-off)

  • We’ll refund the item price and your original standard delivery charge (if paid). If you chose an upgraded delivery (e.g., Next Day), we refund only the standard cost. Refunds are made within 14 days of us receiving the goods back or acceptable proof of return, whichever is earlier. Legislation.gov.uk+1Citizens Advice

Faulty, damaged or not-as-described

  • Within 14 days of delivery: You can exercise the short-term right to reject for a full refund. 

  • After 14 days: You’re entitled to a repair or replacement; if that’s impossible or unsuccessful, you may seek a price reduction or refund. 

  • Where goods are rejected as faulty, we bear reasonable return costs. 

Refunds go to your original payment method unless we agree otherwise.

4) Return shipping costs

  • Change-of-mind: You cover return postage unless we’ve agreed otherwise. If you use our optional pre-paid label, we’ll deduct the actual return cost from your refund. (If we did not clearly disclose this at checkout, we must cover it.) 

  • Faulty/damaged/wrong item: We pay for return shipping or provide a pre-paid label.

5) Non-returnable items (unless faulty)

  • Opened fragrances (tamper seal broken). 

  • Earrings/body-piercing jewellery.

  • Personalised/engraved/made-to-order jewellery. 

  • Gift cards/e-vouchers.

6) What to include in your parcel

  • Order number and contact details.

  • Whether you’d like a refund or an exchange (and the item you want instead).

  • All original packaging, tags and any free gifts from the order.

7) Processing times

  • We aim to process returns within 3–5 working days of receipt.
